8K Expeditions fixes ropes to Ama Dablam summit, opening route for Spring 2026 season

KATHMANDU: A five-member rope-fixing team from 8K Expeditions reached the summit of Ama Dablam at 2:54 pm on Friday, April 4, officially opening the route for all climbers for the Spring 2026 season.
The team was led by Pasdawa Sherpa, accompanied by Dawa Tenjen Sherpa, Pastenji Sherpa, Lakpa Sherpa, and Kamdorji Sherpa.

"We are pleased to inform you that the ropes have been successfully fixed to the summit of Ama Dablam," said Pemba Sherpa, Chairman of 8K Expeditions, congratulating the team for their hard work, commitment, and professionalism.
This marks the season's first summit on the peak. According to the Department of Tourism, three teams comprising 34 members have so far obtained permits to climb Ama Dablam this spring.
