Annapurna trekking routes closed or awaiting safety clearance

KATHMANDU: Major trekking routes in the Annapurna Conservation Area remain closed or are awaiting confirmation of safe access following recent adverse weather, according to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) of the National Trust for Nature Conservation.
The Round Annapurna Circuit, Manang route and Jomsom-Muktinath route have been closed, while the Annapurna Base Camp, Mardi Himal, Ghorepani-Poon Hill and Ghandruk routes are awaiting confirmation of safe access.
ACAP has urged trekkers and tourism stakeholders to check the latest trail conditions and weather updates before beginning their journeys.
The conservation area project said further updates would be issued once the routes are confirmed safe.
