Bharath Thammineni becomes first Indian to summit nine of the world’s 8,000m peaks with Cho Oyu ascent

KATHMANDU: Bharath Thammineni has become the first Indian mountaineer to summit nine of the world's 14 peaks above 8,000 meters.
Thammineni achieved this milestone by successfully reaching the top of Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188m) on Tuesday morning, according to Dawa Sherpa, Managing Director of Climbalaya, who was also a part of this expedition.
Guided by Climbalaya Treks and Expeditions, Thammineni’s Cho Oyu success adds another remarkable chapter to his mountaineering journey.
