KATHMANDU: French mountaineer Claude Jacques Boucher successfully summited Ama Dablam (6,812m) early Thursday morning, guided by 8K Expeditions in what the operator described as a milestone achievement for its Spring 2026 season.
Boucher and his guide, Pastenji Sherpa, reached the summit at 7:30 AM on May 7 — the latter's third summit of Ama Dablam this spring season, according to Lakpa Sherpa, Expedition Leader and Managing Director of 8K Expeditions.
The summit comes weeks after 8K Expeditions fixed the rope to Ama Dablam's summit on April 4, officially opening the route for all climbers for the Spring 2026 season.
