Gabriel Middleton, 17, becomes youngest Briton to summit Everest

KATHMANDU: A 17-year-old British climber has become the youngest national of his country to summit Mount Everest from the South Side, according to expedition operator Elite Exped.
Gabriel Michael Antoni Middleton, aged 17 years, one month and 28 days, reached the 8,848.86-metre summit at 9:20 am on May 27, the operator said.
Elite Exped, which supported Middleton on the climb, said the achievement reflected "determination, resilience, and the courage to chase big dreams."
The operator wished Middleton further success in the mountains, saying "the journey is only beginning."
