Himalayan Rescue Association holds 52nd AGM, honours Everest rescue supporters

KATHMANDU: The Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal (HRA) held its 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kathmandu on Friday, along with a ceremony to honour supporters of its Everest Emergency Rescue (Everest-ER) Spring 2026 programme.

The AGM and Token of Appreciation Distribution Ceremony was held at Alice Receptions, Gairidhara, with Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mukund Prasad Niraula as the chief guest and Director General of the Department of Tourism Ramkrishna Lamichhane as the special guest.

Representatives from diplomatic missions, government officials and tourism stakeholders also attended the event.

HRA honoured supporters and medical professionals for their contribution to the HRA Everest-ER clinic and high-altitude rescue and medical services in the Himalayas.

Established in 1973, HRA has been providing medical and rescue services to trekkers, mountaineers and local communities in Nepal’s mountain regions.
