KATHMANDU: A Nepal-China mountaineering and adventure tourism meeting held in Beijing has concluded successfully, bringing together diplomats and mountaineering professionals from both countries to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the adventure tourism sector.
The event, organised by the Nepali Embassy in China and hosted in collaboration with Kailash, saw active participation from representatives of the Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA). It coincided with Everest Day celebrations, adding symbolic weight to a gathering focused on high-altitude professionalism, cross-border collaboration, and sustainable adventure tourism.
The meeting served as a platform to advance dialogue between Nepal and China on shared interests in mountaineering and adventure tourism — a sector of growing importance to both countries given their shared Himalayan heritage and the rising global demand for high-altitude experiences.
NNMGA expressed its gratitude to the Nepali Embassy in Beijing and Kailash for their hospitality and coordination in making the event a success.
The meeting comes at a moment of broader diplomatic engagement between the two countries, with Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal currently in Beijing for a four-day official visit that includes bilateral talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and an investment conference at the Nepali Embassy.
