KATHMANDU: The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has officially scheduled its Central Executive Committee election for August 23–24, 2025, inviting participation from its members across Nepal’s vibrant mountaineering and tourism sectors.
As per a notice issued by the NMA’s Central Secretariat and published in the Gorkhapatra National Daily, elections for positions under Article 16(1)(Ka) of the NMA Election Bylaws will be held on Saturday, 23 August. Elections for posts under Article 16(1)(Cha) are scheduled for Sunday, 24 August.
The NMA has stated that further information regarding the election process will be made public through an upcoming notice. Members have been advised to monitor official channels for updates.
Established in 1973, the Nepal Mountaineering Association is a non-governmental, non-profit alpine club that promotes mountaineering, mountain tourism, and environmental conservation. It is the only authorized body to issue climbing permits for 27 designated peaks across the country.
Often seen as the institutional backbone of Nepal’s mountain tourism industry, the NMA’s leadership transition will shape its strategic direction in a time of growing global interest in Himalayan travel.
