KATHMANDU: A Saudi prince has become one of the youngest Arab climbers to summit Mount Everest, according to expedition operator Elite Exped.

HRH Mohammed Bin Faisal Bin Fahad Bin M. Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, aged 24 years, two months, and five days, reached the 8,849-metre summit at 7:30 AM on May 27 as part of an Elite Exped VVIP group led by founder Nimsdai Purja.

The ascent marks the sixth of the Seven Summits completed by the prince with Elite Exped, leaving him one peak short of the full set.

Elite Exped said it was "incredibly proud" to be part of his journey and would support him on the final leg of the Seven Summits challenge.
