Tashi Gyalzen Sherpa sets record with four Everest summits in 15 days

KATHMANDU: In a remarkable mountaineering feat, Tashi Gyalzen Sherpa from Phortse, Solukhumbu has made history by scaling Mt Everest four times in just 15 days.

According to Lakpa Sherpa, Managing Director of 8K Expeditions, the 29-year-old climber reached the summit at 3:13 AM this morning, marking his fourth successful ascent of the world’s highest peak this season. 

Tashi had earlier summited on May 9, 14, and 19.

"This is a historic achievement in Everest climbing,” Pemba Sherpa, Chairman of 8K Expeditions was quoted as saying. 

Tashi is currently descending to Camp IV, expedition officials confirmed.

His achievement underscores the strength, endurance, and expertise of Nepali climbers who continue to lead and redefine high-altitude mountaineering.
