Travel to Iran discouraged until security situation stabilises

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel advisory cautioning Nepali nationals residing and working in Iran to remain vigilant in view of the country’s current security situation.

In the notice released on January 13, the ministry urged Nepalis in Iran to strictly follow directives issued by Iranian authorities, stay indoors as much as possible, and exercise heightened caution.

The ministry has also advised Nepali citizens planning to visit Iran to defer their travel until conditions in the country return to normal.

For emergencies, the ministry has asked Nepali citizens to stay in touch with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kathmandu and the Embassy of Nepal in Doha, which provides consular services related to Iran.
