Nepali-origin scholar Ashish Bista claims seven world records in academic achievement

Recognized by World Book of Records, London; cites rapid completion of multiple postgraduate qualifications across four countries
PERTH, AUSTRALIA: Nepali-origin scholar based in Australia, Dr. Ashish Bista, has been recognized by the World Book of Records, London, with seven world records for postgraduate and professional academic achievements.
Bista, who completed his early education in Nepal, holds qualifications spanning Nepal, India, the United Kingdom and Australia. He is identified with distinctions including a highly decorated Chartered Accountant and an academically qualified astrologer.
According to details made available, Bista completed three advanced degrees, including an MSc and a PhD with a gold medal, in just over 1.5 years. He is also stated to have completed four advanced qualifications, including a PhD and Chartered Accountancy, within just over 40 months.
Overall, he is said to have obtained five advanced degrees across four countries in a period of just over 6.5 years.
His ACCA qualification was completed in just over two years, compared to the global average of three to four years.
The World Book of Records, London, has also classified three of his seven records as Certificates of Eminence, described as its highest recognition category.
Bista’s achievements have been featured in international media outlets including USA Today, Business Insider, Yahoo Finance, and The Globe and Mail, along with Nepali media.
According to Bista, his qualifications include a PhD in Astrology, an MSc in Accounting and Finance from BPP University, London, a Master of Accounting from Kaplan Business School in Perth, and Fellowship of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).
Bista said: “I started late. I finished on time. That’s not luck — that’s discipline.” He added that his journey reflects the potential of focused learning for adult learners.
