Bahrain and UN Women launch third cycle of HRH Princess Sabeeka Global Award with US$100,000 prize per category
KATHMANDU: The Kingdom of Bahrain, in partnership with UN Women, has opened nominations for the third cycle of the Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women’s Empowerment.
Applications are invited from governments, private sector enterprises, civil society organisations, and qualified individuals worldwide across all four award categories. The initiative recognises national and international efforts that uplift women’s lives and strengthen their contributions to sustainable development and social progress.
The triennial award aims to inspire action across UN Member States, promoting women as equal partners in driving inclusive and comprehensive development. It also seeks to highlight Bahrain’s commitment to advancing women’s role in fostering societal stability.
The award will honour achievements in four categories — Public Sector, Private Sector, Civil Society Organisations, and Individuals — with each winner receiving US$100,000.
The deadline for nominations is March 20, 2026. Full details on eligibility and submission guidelines are available at www.womenglobalaward.org.
