KATHMANDU: A total of 42 applications have been received for the post of chief executive officer (CEO) of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), with 15 candidates to be shortlisted for interviews and presentations.

The NTB received 11 applications by email and 31 through physical registration at its office. Khageshwor Adhikari applied through both channels.

The written examination has already been conducted, and 15 candidates will be selected for the next stage of the process, according to the board.

The NTB had invited applications for the CEO position earlier this month. Candidates were required to be Nepali citizens with at least a postgraduate degree and 10 years of experience in the tourism sector.

They were also required to submit a strategic action plan of up to 3,000 words and a report of up to 1,000 words outlining significant achievements made through their own efforts in previous organisations or institutions.

The selection is being conducted under the Nepal Tourism Board Procedure for Selection and Recommendation for Appointment of Chief Executive Officer, 2083.
