KATHMANDU: Nepal welcomed 71,775 international visitors in July 2026, marking a 2.3 per cent increase compared to the 70,193 arrivals recorded in the same month last year, according to the latest figures released by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

India remained Nepal's largest source market with 23,490 visitors, accounting for 32.73 per cent of total arrivals. China ranked second with 11,099 visitors (15.46 per cent), followed by the United States with 7,754 (10.80 per cent), Bangladesh with 4,179 (5.82 per cent) and the United Kingdom with 3,773 (5.26 per cent).

Regionally, visitors from South Asian (SAARC) countries made up the largest share of arrivals at 41.5 per cent, followed by other Asian countries at 24.3 per cent. Europe contributed 12.9 per cent, the Americas 12.3 per cent, while visitors from Oceania accounted for 3.6 per cent. Arrivals from the Middle East, Africa and other regions stood at 1.0 per cent, 0.5 per cent and 3.9 per cent, respectively.

The July figures indicate continued resilience in Nepal's tourism sector, with sustained growth in arrivals from key source markets. The NTB said the latest data reflects growing international confidence in Nepal as a travel destination and supports ongoing efforts to position the country as a year-round tourism destination.
