Nepal Evening in Berlin promotes tourism at ITB Berlin 2026

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Tourism Board and the Embassy of Nepal in Berlin organised a special promotional event titled “Nepal Evening” on March 3 on the sidelines of the ITB Berlin 2026 to promote Nepal’s tourism potential.

Speaking at the event, Chargé d’affaires a.i. Sagar Prasad Phuyal highlighted Nepal’s tourism opportunities, rich culture and investment prospects, while stressing stronger Nepal–Germany people-to-people ties. He also briefed participants on recent reforms in Nepal’s tourism sector and invited German travellers to visit the country.

Senior officer at the Nepal Tourism Board Srijana Nepali presented the current status and key initiatives of Nepal’s tourism industry through a presentation titled “Destination Nepal.”

During the programme, tourism expert Geoffrey Lipman emphasised the importance of sustainable tourism and niche markets, while Juergen Steinmetz shared his long association with Nepal’s tourism sector. Hanna Pearson also highlighted Nepal’s potential as a premier adventure tourism destination.

The event featured cultural performances and traditional Nepali hospitality, including the offering of Dhaka topi to guests. Around 200 diplomats, tourism stakeholders, diaspora members and media representatives attended the programme, which was moderated by Ranjan Yadav and concluded with a dinner reception serving authentic Nepali cuisine.
