NEPALGUNJ: A three-day Nepal–India Cross-Border Tourism Conclave was held in Nepalgunj to strengthen tourism cooperation and enhance cross-border travel between the two neighboring countries.
Organised with the participation of tourism stakeholders, policymakers, security agencies, and private sector representatives from both sides, the conclave focused on easing border-related challenges and improving travel facilitation.
The discussions also aimed to reposition Nepalgunj not just as a transit hub, but as a tourism destination in its own right, with potential for religious, cultural, wellness, and regional tourism.
Speaking at the conclave, Nepal Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer Deepak Raj Joshi underlined the role of cross-border collaboration in promoting wedding tourism, wellness tourism, and nature-based experiences in Nepal.
The event featured panel discussions, business-to-business (B2B) meetings, experience-sharing sessions, and cultural programs, fostering stronger partnerships between Nepali and Indian tourism entrepreneurs. Organisers said the conclave is expected to play a key role in deepening regional tourism ties and boosting cross-border visitor flows.
