KATHMANDU: The Department of Immigration (DoI) has announced special immigration measures to assist international visitors affected by the recent curfew and unrest in the Kathmandu Valley.
According to the DoI, foreign nationals whose visas were valid through September 8 and who need to depart during the curfew period will receive visa regularization and exit permission without additional fees. Travelers can obtain these services at immigration offices or directly at their point of departure.
For visitors who lost their passports and have secured a travel document or emergency passport from their embassies, Nepal will transfer visas to the new documents in line with existing regulations, ensuring they can leave the country smoothly.
Meanwhile, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) advised travelers to stay in contact with their embassies and local immigration offices for assistance and updates during the ongoing security situation.
