Casino entertainment is a significant part of Nepal’s tourism and hospitality sector, especially in destinations close to India and other regional markets. The renewal of licenses is expected to help maintain Nepal’s reputation as a gaming destination while boosting hotel revenues, creating local employment opportunities, and encouraging visitor spending.
Casinos in Nepal are primarily intended for foreign tourists, as Nepali citizens are prohibited from entering or gambling in these establishments. However, non-resident Nepalis are allowed access. The policy is designed to target international visitors, ensuring that the casino industry contributes to both the country’s tourism appeal and its economy.
