Nepal shines at India International Travel Mart, wins Heritage Destination Award

KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), along with 12 leading private-sector travel companies, successfully showcased Nepal at the India International Travel Mart (IITM) held from December 4-6 in Hyderabad.
The three-day event featured over 200 exhibitors from more than 25 Indian states and 10 countries, drawing international tourism representatives and private travel enterprises.
The IITM served as a major B2B platform for tourism boards, travel operators, airlines, hospitality brands, and technology providers, facilitating networking, exploration of new destinations, and discovery of travel innovations. Participating Nepali companies included JourneyDMC, The Trek Nepal Pvt. Ltd, Nepal Big Mountain Travel Co. Pvt. Ltd, Taleju Adventure Pvt. Ltd, Go Nepal Travel, Tours & Trekking Pvt. Ltd, Heritage Tours & Travels Pvt. Ltd, Namaste Holidays Tours & Treks Pvt. Ltd, Zeo Tourism Pvt. Ltd, Scenic Mountain Travels & Tours Pvt. Ltd, Himalaya Safety Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd, Himmalagari Travel & Tours Pvt. Ltd, and Yeti Travels Pvt. Ltd.
Nepal’s presence at the fair was widely appreciated, highlighting the country’s rich culture, adventure offerings, and warm hospitality, according to the NTB. The country also won the “Heritage Destination of the Year” award at the event.
In addition to the exhibition, NTB launched a youth outreach program, where Senior Manager Shradha Shrestha engaged nearly 200 students of Shri Shantiniketan Secondary School with a presentation on Nepal’s natural beauty, culture, and adventure tourism, inspiring the next generation to explore the country.
