KATHMANDU: Nepali nationals travelling to Sri Lanka for tourism can now obtain a free 30-day double-entry Tourist Visa, effective May 25, 2026, following Sri Lanka's introduction of a free Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) facility for nationals of 40 countries, including Nepal.
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Kathmandu announced the development, advising travellers to obtain the ETA prior to arrival through the official website www.eta.gov.lk or by contacting the embassy directly.
The free ETA replaces what was previously a paid visa process, making Sri Lanka a more accessible destination for Nepali leisure travellers. The 30-day double-entry facility offers added flexibility for those planning multi-leg itineraries.
