TAAN, Korean Travel Association sign MoU to boost bilateral tourism

KATHMANDU: The Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) and the Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in promoting tourism between Nepal and Korea.
The MoU was signed by TAAN President Sagar Pandey and KATA Vice President Kim Beomje in the presence of Park Tae-Young, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal.

The signing ceremony was also attended by KATA General Secretary Bae Young Chang, Chairperson of Korea Association of Nepal Cha Seung Won, and key TAAN office bearers and executive committee members, including General Secretary Sonam G. Sherpa and CEO Ram Chandra Sedai.
Under the agreement, TAAN and KATA will collaborate to promote Nepalese tourism products and destinations to Korean travelers, enhance tourist safety through information sharing, safety training, and search-and-rescue operations, and organize joint events and promotional campaigns.
"TAAN will collaborate with the KATA and Korean travel agencies to promote Nepalese tourism products and destinations in various ways to encourage more Korean tourists to visit Nepal. TAAN will also work to enhance the safety of the Korean tourists in Nepal through information, safety trainings and prompt search and rescue operations," according to the TAAN.
The partnership also seeks to encourage Nepalese travelers to explore Korea.
The MoU is expected to deepen friendship, strengthen bilateral ties, and foster sustainable tourism growth between the two countries.
