KATHMANDU: Cathay Pacific will temporarily suspend all flights between Hong Kong and Kathmandu from Monday, September 15, citing safety concerns amid ongoing unrest in the city. This suspension will last, until Tuesday, September 30.
"Following a thorough assesment of the situation in Kathmandu and , out of an abundance of caution, cathay pacific is temporarily suspending all flights between Hong Kong and kathmand from monday," Cathay Pacific said in a statement.
The airline plans to resume services on Wednesday, October 1.
The airlines have offered passengers affected by the suspension with flexible options, including rebooking flights from October 1 onwards or requesting a full refund. However, limited alternative flights may make rescheduling challenging.
"Our ticket wiver policy is in place to provide full flexibility and choice, despite our best efforts, alternative flights are limited at the moment, which makes rebooking very challenging," the airline said.
