KATHMANDU: A newly released video ‘I tried Everest’ by celebrated Jordanian documentarian Joe Hattab featuring world record-holding Nepali mountaineer Nima Rinji Sherpa enthralled global audiences with over 5.7 million views in YouTube in just 11 days.
Joe Hattab tagged along with mountaineering icon Nima Rinji last November for a project of a lifetime: exploring the Everest region. Then, he documented Khumbu region where Nima Rinji played a key role in promoting Sherpas’ struggle, their culture and Himalayan communities.
Hattab, the documentarian, with a global audience of nearly 19 million, released the video both in English and Hindi, promoting Nepal’s Khumbu region.
Nima Rinji, a National Geographic-featured climber, showcased the thrill and beauty of the Everest Base Camp trek to the world while Hattab filmed the iconic beauty of Everest region.
Nima Rinji, world’s youngest to scale all 14 Peaks, is passionately dedicated to promoting Nepal's adventure tourism, and there's no better voice to amplify that message than Joe Hattab, reacted Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, owner of 14 Peaks Expedition.
Hattab is known for his visually stunning travel documentaries that have garnered views in the tens of millions and attracted clients like Emirates, Samsung and Sony. “Through the latest Joe Hattab’s video featuring Nima Rinji has promoted Nepal’s adventure tourism in the global market.”
