KATHMANDU: Sixteen candidates have been shortlisted for the post of chief executive officer (CEO) of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), following an evaluation of applications submitted for the position.

The CEO Selection Sub-committee published the shortlist on Friday, selecting the candidates who scored the highest marks under the Board's Procedure for Selection and Recommendation for Appointment of Chief Executive Officer, 2083.

The shortlisted candidates are Ayutosh Pradhan, Uttam Prasad Devkota, Tek Bahadur Mahat, Dharmaraj Dawadi, Nojal Koirala, Yubika Bhandari, Rajaram KC, Ram Chandra Sedai, Rohini Prasad Khanal, Laxman Gautam, Binod Aryal, Shradha Shrestha, Shree Prasad Bhattarai, Santosh Bikram Thapa, Suresh Singh Budal and Hikmat Singh Ayer.

According to the notice, the shortlisted candidates must make professional presentations on their proposed work plans by November 26.

The NTB had received 42 applications for the position, including 11 submitted by email and 31 through physical registration at its office. One candidate, Khageshwor Adhikari, had applied through both channels.

The selection process is being conducted under the procedure introduced in 2083 BS. The shortlisted candidates will now move to the presentation stage before the appointment recommendation is made.
