KATHMANDU: The Manjushree Trail Race (MTR), Nepal's first and only ITRA-certified and UTMB-indexed 100-mile trail race, returns to the Kathmandu Valley Rim for its sixth edition from April 17 to 19, 2026, with five race categories catering to runners of varying distances and experience levels.
Now in its sixth year, MTR also continues as one of only two Asia Trail Master (ATM) Qualifiers in Nepal for the 100-mile and 50km categories, with the 100-mile and 80km races both counting toward the ATM Grandmaster Quest.
The race offers five distance categories with separate start points across the valley. The 100-mile race starts from Pataleban Resort, the 80km from Nagarkot, the 50km from Godawari, and the 20km from Dollu, with all categories finishing at Pataleban.
Registration fees are as follows: USD 150 (NPR 12,000) for the 100-mile, USD 120 (NPR 9,000) for the 80km, USD 80 (NPR 7,500) for the 50km, USD 25 (NPR 3,000) for the 20km, and USD 10 (NPR 1,500) for the 10km. Registrations are open at www.manjushreetrailrace.com.
Organisers describe MTR as a race built by trail runners, for trail runners, rooted in the Kathmandu Valley's ridge trails and carried forward as a grassroots effort to celebrate endurance running and community on the valley's singletracks.
