International experts join Kathmandu training to help shape Nepal’s “Himalayan Wellness” brand identity.
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), in collaboration with the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) and Nepal in Business (NIB), has begun a three-day national workshop aimed at strengthening Nepal’s growing wellness tourism sector.
The Wellness Tourism Capacity-Building Workshop 2025, which runs from December 1–3 at Hotel Radisson in Kathmandu, features internationally recognised wellness experts from Australia, Katherine Droga and Sharon Kolkka. The programme focuses on developing practical skills in wellness product design, marketing, packaging, certification readiness and alignment with global standards.
Participants will take part in interactive sessions, hands-on training modules, strategy discussions and a dedicated dialogue on creating a national wellness tourism framework tailored for Nepal’s long-term positioning.
At the inaugural session, NATTA President Kumar Mani Thapaliya said wellness is deeply rooted in Nepal’s culture, spirituality and everyday life. He noted that Nepal holds strong potential to emerge as a leading global wellness destination and welcomed the APO experts for their support. The workshop, he said, represents a significant step toward defining “Himalayan Wellness” as Nepal’s unique brand identity.
The three-day programme aims to equip tourism professionals with the tools required to elevate Nepal as a competitive wellness destination on the global stage.
Established in 1966, NATTA stands as a premier organization dedicated to advancing Nepal’s tour and travel industry. Founded by a group of visionary travel agents, NATTA has been a cornerstone in promoting robust business principles and regulating the travel sector in Nepal for over six decades.
