Nepal Airlines flight disrupted as Qatar closes airspace due to security concerns

KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced the cancellation of its scheduled Doha-Kathmandu flight RA-240 following the temporary closure of Qatari airspace due to war-related security concerns.
According to an official NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued by the Government of Qatar and the Qatari Civil Aviation Authority on June 23, 2025, the closure has directly affected operations of Nepal’s national flag carrier. The flight was originally scheduled to depart Doha at 2:45 AM on June 24 .
The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the disruption, which also impacted the corresponding RA-239 flight from Kathmandu to Doha. NAC has advised affected passengers that they may either reschedule their travel or claim a full refund by contacting any of the airline’s city offices.
Nepal Airlines emphasized that the safety of passengers remains its top priority. The corporation assured that operations will resume in compliance with international standards once the situation stabilizes.
