Move aims to ease nighttime congestion amid packed flight schedules

KATHMANDU: The Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has requested all departing passengers to enter the immigration departure area at least one hour before their scheduled flight time to help ease congestion.

According to a notice issued by the TIA immigration, the airport has been facing excessive passenger crowding, particularly during nighttime departures.

While the flight schedules are managed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, the immigration office said it has requested flexibility in nighttime scheduling and urged international airlines to encourage passengers to check in and proceed to immigration well in advance.

The Immigration Office appealed to travelers for cooperation, stating that timely entry into the departure area will help streamline the immigration process and reduce delays during peak hours.
