Cathay Pacific named among world’s top three airlines, wins two Skytrax awards

KATHMANDU: Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific has been named among the top three airlines in the world at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, while winning two other major awards for its cabin crew and first-class lounge.
The airline received the World’s Best Cabin Crew and World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge awards at a ceremony in London, recognising its service in the air and on the ground.
Cathay Group Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam, who attended the ceremony with senior service officials, said the awards reflected the efforts of its staff and would encourage the airline to continue improving its customer service.
Cathay said the cabin crew award recognised the consistency and service of its frontline teams. The first-class lounge award follows the reopening of its flagship The Wing, First lounge at Hong Kong International Airport earlier this year after an extensive redesign.
According to the airline, the redesigned lounge focuses on residential-style comfort, dining, service and privacy.
Cathay has committed around HK$150 billion in investments to expand and upgrade its fleet, cabins and lounges, as well as digital services, the airline said.
