Airline says safety, customer experience and operational reliability remain central as it marks 28 years of commercial service in Nepal.

KATHMANDU: Yeti Airlines has completed 28 years of commercial operations, serving around 900,000 passengers over the past year, according to the airline.

The airline, which began commercial flights in 1998, said passenger trust, safety and service quality have remained key priorities throughout its operations.

Yeti said the number of passengers served in the past year reflects its continued presence in Nepal’s domestic aviation market amid rising operating costs, airport infrastructure challenges, weather disruptions and competition from road transport.

The airline said it has been working to improve the passenger experience across ticket booking, airport services, information delivery and in-flight services. It added that passenger feedback is being used to improve its digital platforms and customer service systems.

Safety remains a primary focus, with the airline citing regular technical monitoring, crew and technical staff training and improvements to its safety management system.

Yeti said its services also support tourism, business, healthcare, education and domestic mobility by connecting major cities and tourist destinations.

Marking its 28th anniversary, the airline said it would focus on improving services based on passenger demand, increasing operational efficiency, expanding the use of digital technology and making the overall travel experience more convenient.
